Staré Město, July 17, 2026 – Ray Service welcomed the Czech Minister of Defence, Jaromír Zůna, to its headquarters. The visit symbolically marked the launch of a new investment phase – the largest development programme in the company’s history. Extensive investments in manufacturing capacity, advanced technologies, in-house research and development, and human resources are designed to prepare the company for the future needs of the Czech, European and Allied defence industries.

At a time when Europe is significantly strengthening its defence capabilities and investing in the modernisation of its armed forces, a strong domestic industrial base has become one of the fundamental pillars of national security. In response, Ray Service is embarking on a strategic phase of growth aimed at expanding production capacity, broadening its technological capabilities, and reinforcing its readiness for future defence programmes.

The investment programme includes the construction of a new manufacturing facility at the company’s headquarters in Staré Město, the acquisition of a production plant in Podolí, the integration of MGM Compro into the Ray Service Group, and significant investments in advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, digitalisation, research and development. These initiatives will substantially increase the company’s production capacity, strengthen its technological capabilities, and prepare Ray Service for future strategic projects in the defence and aerospace sectors.

“The future of the defence industry is built not only on new technologies, but above all on the courage to invest ahead of time. Today, we are launching the largest investment programme in Ray Service’s history. We are expanding our manufacturing capabilities, strengthening our in-house development, investing in cutting-edge technologies, and creating new opportunities for Czech engineering talent. Our ambition is to become a long-term strategic partner for the modernisation programmes of the Czech Armed Forces and NATO allied nations,” said Jakub Gabriel, Chief Executive Officer of Ray Service.

During the visit, the Minister of Defence toured the company’s production facilities, reviewed the planned investments and long-term business strategy, and discussed with Ray Service’s management the future of the Czech defence industry, its competitiveness, and the involvement of domestic companies in key defence modernisation programmes.

A major part of the investment programme also focuses on the acquisition of a new generation of manufacturing technologies, specialised workstations, and state-of-the-art testing equipment. These investments will enhance manufacturing precision, efficiency, and production capacity while enabling the delivery of some of the most technologically demanding projects for leading global companies operating in the defence and aerospace industries.

Alongside the expansion of its manufacturing capabilities, Ray Service continues to invest in the development of innovative proprietary solutions. At the international defence exhibition Eurosatory, the company introduced its EGIS Family product platform, which has become a symbol of Ray Service’s new phase of technological development. During his visit, the Minister reflected on its official launch and was introduced to the company’s future plans for product development and innovation.

The new investment phase will also create dozens – and eventually hundreds – of new jobs across engineering, manufacturing, and research and development. Ray Service is therefore actively expanding its workforce while strengthening cooperation with secondary schools, universities, and technical institutions. The company’s objective is to help educate and develop the next generation of specialists who will contribute to shaping the future of the Czech defence industry.

“Our ambition is not only to grow as a company. We want to develop technologies that contribute to the security of the Czech Republic. The investments we are making today are investments in the future – in people, innovation, manufacturing excellence, and the ability of Czech industry to compete successfully on the international stage,” added Jakub Gabriel.

Thanks to the employees of Ray Service and visitors of Slovácké léto, a total of CZK 83,607 was raised for a charity event supporting Matýsek, which took place as part of the festival.

At Ray Service, we decided to match the amount raised, increasing it to CZK 167,214.

This year’s Czech Day Against Cancer at Ray Service, a.s. was simply amazing. Walking through the hallways, you could immediately see how many of us were wearing the small yellow flower on our shirts. Together, we sold 150 flowers, and it’s a wonderful feeling to see how willing we are to support such an important cause and come together for it.
It’s not just about the flower itself. It’s about the shared energy behind it. We showed that even though each of us has our own work and daily responsibilities, we can still pause for a moment and sincerely support something that carries deep meaning. In 2026, Zlín will once again host an important event connecting students, graduates, and employers – the iKariéra Career Fair, taking place on April 1, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Foyer of the Faculty of Applied Informatics, Tomas Bata University in Zlín.

We attended the Tech4Defence meeting in Zlín, which clearly demonstrated from both an industrial and technological perspective that the defense sector today is not just about security—it is also a major opportunity for innovation, growth, and strengthening European self-reliance.

The event brought together dozens of companies across industries—from IT and electronics to engineering and plastics. This cross-industry collaboration is exactly what forms the foundation of modern defense solutions, which are increasingly complex and technologically demanding.

For Ray Service, the meeting was a natural continuation of our long-standing focus on projects with high demands for quality, reliability, and technical precision. We have been active in the defense and aerospace sectors for many years, and events like this confirm that the ability to respond flexibly to specific customer requirements is now key.

Ray Service is expanding its investment portfolio. It has acquired a two-thirds stake in MGM COMPRO and MGM COMPRO International, companies that have long operated in the fields of industrial electronics, custom development, and the production of solutions for demanding and mission-critical environments.

How do you think production at Ray Service has changed over the past years, and where is it heading next?

In recent years, production has moved toward higher efficiency and stability, partly thanks to greater use of specialized production lines and workstations and their better organization. We are focusing on more comprehensive solutions and on connecting individual steps into coherent production flows. In the future, we are aiming for even greater flexibility of our lines in order to further strengthen our role as a system supplier.

What gives you the greatest satisfaction when you see the results of the production team’s work, and how do you show your appreciation?

I am happiest when I see that the product meets the technical requirements, is manufactured within the required time and delivered according to the planned schedule, and when it is clear that people communicate with each other, help one another, and pull together as one team.

What is the biggest challenge for you when managing a shift?

Every day brings new situations that need to be resolved quickly and thoughtfully. It is important to have an overview of what is happening, to be able to set priorities, and to maintain a smooth production flow. Clear communication within the team is also key, so that everyone knows what is expected of them. The pressure to deliver results is high, but we always try to find a balance between performance and a human approach.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

We enjoy the fact that our work produces visible, tangible results. Every cable that passes through our hands has its purpose and goes on to be part of major projects. Every day we work on something different, we are constantly learning new things, and it is never routine. And also the team – we are a well-coordinated group.

Today in Prakovce, we handed over new tablets and established cooperation with the Prakovce Municipal Office, the Primary School, the Secondary School of Technology and Services, and Gelnica Grammar School.

As we continue expanding our production operations in Prakovce, it’s important for us to be a good neighbor and actively support the local community. We want the entire region to benefit from our presence – and starting with schools is a natural first step.

Today we’re kicking off our program at Aerospace and Defense Meetings Torino – a specialized B2B platform that connects suppliers and manufacturers across the aerospace, space, and defense industries. The event is built on pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings focused on concrete projects and real collaboration opportunities.
We have a full day of sessions with OEM manufacturers, system suppliers, and technical teams ahead of us. This year, as part of our Movember support, we visited the Department of Clinical Biochemistry at the Uherské Hradiště Hospital. We wanted to make their workday a little more pleasant, so we brought coffee and light refreshments as a small thank-you for their everyday work.
For us, Movember is a reminder of the importance of men’s health prevention, but also an opportunity to pause and thank the people who stand behind healthcare in our region. The work of the clinical biochemistry team is often understated, yet incredibly important — and we were glad to show them at least a small gesture of support.
We would like to thank the entire team of the Department of Clinical Biochemistry and the Uherské Hradiště Hospital for their dedication and the care they provide to the wider public.

Summer holidays can be challenging for working parents. But at Ray Service, we are prepared for this.
That is why we organized a company day camp for our employees’ children again this year.

From Monday to Friday, the children became little detectives who solved mysteries together, searched for clues, decoded ciphers, and uncovered secrets hidden on the company premises and in the surrounding area.

The children’s camp took place every day during working hours. Parents could safely drop their children off in the morning before the start of their shift and pick them up again in the afternoon – without stress or complicated logistics. The children were supervised by experienced leaders throughout the day in a safe and inspiring environment.

We believe that caring for our employees’ families is an important part of our corporate culture. The company camp is one practical way to help parents balance their work responsibilities with childcare – while offering children a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

We would like to thank all the organizers, leaders, and parents for their excellent cooperation—and especially the little detectives, who approached every challenge with enthusiasm and a desire to solve mysteries throughout the week.

We participated in the joint exhibition of the Czech National Pavilion at the prestigious international Paris Air Show 2025, held in Hall 5, Booth D224.

The Paris Air Show is one of the most significant and oldest aerospace exhibitions in the world. It takes place every two years at the Le Bourget Airport near Paris and attracts leading manufacturers, suppliers, and experts from the fields of civil and military aviation and space technology. The show showcases the latest technologies and innovations and facilitates business networking and international cooperation.

During the exhibition, we presented the most advanced technologies in the field of cable harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies for the aerospace and defense industries.

The official opening of the Czech exhibition took place in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Lukáš Vlček, whom we had the honor of welcoming directly at our booth and presenting our activities. We greatly appreciate the support and interest in Czech companies on the international stage and are proud to have been part of a strong representation of Czech industry at the global level.

The fair was very busy – every day we held numerous meetings with partners, customers, and suppliers. Key topics included modernization of defense platforms, advanced cable systems for aviation, and international technological cooperation.

The Paris Air Show is a unique event where teams from around the world come together, featuring leading innovations, informal discussions, and key business negotiations. The exhibition provided inspiration and insight into the future of aviation and defense technologies.

Ray Service, a.s. successfully participated in the prestigious INDODEFENCE 2025 defense exhibition held in Jakarta, Indonesia. This time, we took part in the exhibition within the Slovak National Pavilion.

INDODEFENCE is one of the most important defense exhibitions in Southeast Asia, held every two years and attracting leading manufacturers, suppliers, and experts from the defense industry worldwide. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to showcase innovative technologies, establish business contacts, and exchange experiences among manufacturers, military representatives, and government institutions.

The entire duration of the exhibition was very busy and filled with visitors who showed great interest in the solutions presented. Our company showcased a wide range of products in the fields of cable harnesses, electrical installations, connector assemblies, and complete systems. Our colleagues at the booth were ready to present our technical capabilities and discuss potential cooperation.

We greatly appreciate the high attendance and all the meetings we held during the exhibition. We thank everyone who visited us and look forward to future joint projects.

IDET is behind us! We were part of the prestigious international defence and security technology fair IDET 2025, which took place at the Brno Exhibition Centre. Our participation was a great opportunity to establish new contacts and present our technologies to the professional public.

As part of the Golden IDET competition, which awards the most interesting and advanced innovations in the defence and security industry, we received an honourable mention for our innovative solution. We truly appreciate this recognition – it confirms that we are on the right track and that our efforts toward technological advancement are meaningful.

The entire fair took place in a great atmosphere – with a strong presence of experts, government representatives, partners, and the general public. We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand for their interest, feedback, and engaging discussions.

In the morning, what a drive – a bagel, coffee and a team ride!

Last week, we gathered for breakfast together to thank everyone who participated in the “Bike to work”.
And what did it look like? Fresh coffee smelling on the table, homemade scones disappearing and bagels crunching – just breakfast as it should be. There was no shortage of good cheer, laughter or chatter about the (sometimes rainy) morning rides to work.
This group of people showed that when it comes to health, movement and the environment, we can all pedal together and to the fullest.

This centre is a major project that focuses on supporting families and children, and offers a wide range of activities including educational programmes, leisure activities and a children’s playroom with elements of Montessori pedagogy.

Last Saturday we had a sporting morning on the ice with our colleagues from Ray Service. Our company booked the rink for employees and their families to enjoy a day of fun and exercise together. The event was called “Ray on Ice” and it was a great opportunity to spend time with colleagues and their loved ones outside of the work environment.

The first enthusiasts started to gather at the rink early in the morning. The children were looking forward to skating and the adults were looking forward to spending time with family and friends. It was lovely to see everyone having fun, whether on the ice or chatting over hot tea.

It was great to see colleagues and their families bonding and making new memories. The “Ray on Ice” event was not only about skating, but also about strengthening team spirit and building friendships.

Everyone who landed on Saturday thoroughly enjoyed the event. We hope that “Ray on Ice” will become a new tradition for Ray Service and that next year we will meet again at the rink in even greater numbers

The first year was a success and we are already looking forward to the next one.

An unforgettable sports day was held at Ray Service, attracting more than 100 athletes (our employees) and an equal number of enthusiastic fans. This day was full of competitions, laughter, and team spirit, offering a wide range of disciplines where everyone could find something they enjoyed. It included five main disciplines: darts, bowling, disc golf, archery, and biathlon. Each of these disciplines brought its own challenges and fun, and the participants eagerly engaged in the competitions.

Darts were the first discipline of the day, where athletes tried to score as high as possible. The atmosphere was tense yet friendly, and every throw was accompanied by encouraging cheers from the fans.

Next was bowling, where teams competed to knock down as many pins as possible.

Disc golf was an unconventional discipline, with most athletes trying it for the first time. It wasn’t as easy as it seemed, but everyone had a great time.

Archery was another discipline that required precision and a steady hand. Athletes aimed to hit the targets as close to the center as possible, and several succeeded.

The final discipline was target shooting. The one who shot down five targets the fastest won the round. It was a real shootout, but everyone was excited to try such an interesting discipline.

The entire sports day was a great opportunity for Ray Service employees to meet outside the work environment, strengthen team spirit, and enjoy a day full of fun and competitions. The fans created an amazing atmosphere and supported their favorites throughout the day.

The sports day at Ray Service was undoubtedly a successful event that brought joy and unforgettable experiences to all participants.

We showcase a unique Multispectral stationary camouflage system at the IDEB trade fair. This system includes a group of products designed to mask mobile and stationary objects in the static phase in the visible, infrared (near, middle, far), and microwave areas.

Camouflage nets have a modular structure, which enables the operator to achieve the required size by using different configurations.

They are delivered in three basic designs (summer, winter, desert), supplemented with a number of special alternatives. A complete set includes anchoring hardware, deforming, and supporting elements according to its size and purpose of use.

Principle of camouflage effect:

• visual region – three-dimensional assembly of the leaf structure,
• infrared region – reduction of thermal contrast to a background using a material with low thermal capacity and efficient assembly of the cover textile
• microwave region – absorption and diffusion of an incidence wave to a background level
• protection of the vehicle and the crew against overheating due to sunlight. Ability to reduce temperature by up to 8 degrees Celsius. Increasing crew protection and improving the working environment.

Rheinmetall and Ray Service sign LYNX IFV strategic co-operation agreement

Rheinmetall, the manufacturer of the LYNX infantry fighting vehicle in contention for the Czech Republic’s ongoing IFV renewal programme, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Czech company Ray Service for current and future LYNX projects. The decade-long cooperation between the German and Czech companies has entered into a new phase expected to secure up to 50 jobs over the next five years.

The strategic cooperation agreement ensures region-wide support from Ray Service for Rheinmetall’s innovative LYNX IFV platform. Ray Service contributes to LYNX programmes through the supply of vitally important cable harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, and external lighting systems, as well as the supply of third-party equipment including Beth-El’s NBC system, Kidde Deugra’s fire extinguishing system, and tracks and road wheels from Defence Service Tracks.

Based in Staré Město, Ray Service started working with Rheinmetall in 2011. The company will support Rheinmetall through local content approaches in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.

“Taking our cooperation with Rheinmetall to the next level is fantastic news for Ray Service,” says Jakub Gabriel, Managing Director of Ray Service. “Working on the incredible LYNX platform has been an extremely rewarding experience, providing us with excellent challenges and opportunities for knowledge-sharing and research. Our new strategic cooperation with Rheinmetall for domestic and export projects will secure up to 50 jobs over the coming years while improving our R&D capabilities and opening up global export opportunities”.

Rheinmetall’s LYNX is a leading contender for the renewal of the Czech Republic’s IFV fleet with 210 next-generation vehicles. A fully modular platform, the LYNX can switch quickly between various battlefield and peace-keeping functions thanks to its high inherent degree of adaptability and flexibility. In 2020, the LYNX was chosen by the Hungarian Armed Forces for a similar IFV fleet renewal programme.

“LYNX is not only a lethal, modular vehicle for the modern battlefield and therefore the right choice for the Army, but also a huge opportunity for domestic industrial development and economic growth,” says Oliver Mittelsdorf, Senior Vice President Sales at Rheinmetall Defence. “Over the past 10 years, Ray Service have been an unfailingly reliable partner, delivering outstanding results time and time again. Their commitment to innovation makes them the perfect supplier for the LYNX, and we look forward to deepening our relationship through this new strategic cooperation agreement.”

Rheinmetall’s commitment to the localization of production includes a pledge to use Czech components for more 40% of the LYNX KF41 if it wins the IFV tender. Other Czech LYNX suppliers would include MEOPTA, Česká zbrojovka and VOP CZ. The LYNX’s crucial Lance 2.0 turret system would meanwhile be built at Rheinmetall’s production plant in the Ústí nad Labem region, where it employs more than a thousand people.

Ray Service  was announced as one of the top 7 companies in the Czech Republic in the finals of the 12th annual business competition Vodafone Company of the Year 2017 which was held on Wednesday, December 6th at Žofín in Prague. Every year the “Hospodarske noviny” newspaper arranges this prestigious award. Fourteen regional winners then proceed to the national final and the jury decides on the overall winner.
